Websites

Here are all of the various websites I've worked on. As you can see PHP is my weapon of choice for most sites.

Irwin Gardens

Irwin Gardens

I knew the Innkeepers from a previous project, and they asked me to design and build them a site for a historical mansion-turned-inn down in Columbus, Indiana. It included a little bit of everything, including some PHP, jQuery, xHTML, and CSS for the layout, and we linked the site up with various social media outlets to help market their new business. I even did some photographic work for them as well as helped them set up a now-defunct blog. We launched the site in late 2009 and I still update it for them about every other month.

Mug N Bun

Mug N Bun

I built this site for my dad's drive-in restaurant located on the west side of Indianapolis. We built it using PHP, XHTML, CSS, and a little bit of MooTools and FancyZoom javascript libraries to make it a little more dynamic. We incorporated GoogleMaps, Facebook, and TripAdvisor links to aid users in finding Mug N Bun. In one month after launching the site, the restaurant's ratings rose from #33 in the area to #4, and the Mug N Bun Facebook Page accumulated over 3000 "likes." The site was launched in December 2009 to complement the grand opening of the restaurant's first-ever dine-in option.

I built this blog for a friend who likes to do some comedy writing in his spare time. After several designs, we finally launched it July 1, 2010. The site runs on the WordPress 3.0 architecture and uses widget bars in at three different places. We even implemented a plugin to make the site work smoothly on iPhones, Andoids, Palm webOS phones, and other touch-based devices with a customized mobile theme. Reader beware - some of the content is NSFW material!

PEERS Project

PEERS Project

I worked on this project team during the spring semester of 2009 at Purdue University for my senior design project. While the project itself required our teams to essentially run a virtual business, using emerging technologies, user tests, and legitimate research papers, I served as the team's lead developer for the actual product: a social networking website for the organization. The design itself was handled by a different team-member, but I helped design and build a custom content management system with some rudimentary social networking and moderation aspects. The entire site is driven by PHP5, MySQL databases, standards compliant HTML and CSS, with some custom apache directives for permalink handling and added security.
